Violence in the English-speaking region of Cameroon has seen an increase since the President, Paul Biya called for national dialogue. In some towns, military-trained teachers have replaced the regular teachers who have fleed their duties for safety.

 The Governor of the Northwest region of Cameroon, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, recently visited the 7 divisions that constitute his region. During his visit, he encouraged the inhabitants to return to school during the upcoming academic year.

Cameroon is considered as a "peaceful nation", this phrase is used to many government officials whenever they are addressing any protest from its civilians.

The crisis in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon has truncated the educational system in that part of the Country. It began in 2016 with the teacher's protest. Since then many educational institutions have been burnt down. While we have seen students, teachers, and administrative personnel kidnapped.

  Until one understands the root cause of a problem, getting a solution could become a lifetime struggle. The struggle in the southern region of Cameroon has a root cause and key actors that would not back down.

The escalating violence in the southern part of Cameroon is attracting a lot of concern from states that had been silent since the crisis broke out. Canada is not the least on this list;

The war in Cameroon is aggravated, the international community is silent, the African Union is muted over this crisis in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon.
