Friday, February fourteenth, the   UN says at least 22 people have been killed in a village in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Over half of those killed were children. No one has claimed responsibility for Friday’s incident but the opposition parties blame the killing on the government.

Bafana Bafana and Cameroon have played to a 0-0 draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, leaving South Africa with a very slim chance of qualifying for AFCON 2017. South Africa were the far more industrious side but just could not fashion any decent open play chances. They came closest to scoring from two set pieces, one in each half.

Limbe Omnisport Stadium makes remarkable history

Since the creation of the Cameroon football team on January 1, 1959, this was the first time the city of Limbe, in particular, and the Southwest Region, in general was hosting an international game. According to reports, out of the 19,100 tickets printed for the Cameroon-South Africa encounter, 14,000 tickets were sent to the Southwest region giving the inhabitants of this part of the country the opportunity to watch the Lions play live for the first time.

AFCON: Cameroon 2-2 South Africa

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon shattered South Africa’s AFCON qualifying hopes by leveling their encounter to a 2-2 draw in Limbe. South Africa’s side headed to Limbe without a win in their opening two Group M matches and an opener from Tokelo Rantie was cancelled out by Cameroon forward Sebastien Siani on the stroke of half-time. Eyong Enoh misses out Cameroon-South Africa encounter

Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Eyong Enoh will not get a reunion with former protagonists from the Premier Soccer League when Cameroon meet South Africa in their two African Nations Cup qualifiers over the next five days. Injury has ruled the hard-tackling midfielder out of the Group M matches in Limbe on Saturday and Durban next Tuesday.

Samuel Eto'o says Samp is yet to pay his salary

Former Inter and Sampdoria striker Samuel Eto’o revealed to Secolo XIX, that the club’s president is yet to pay his salary. It was the former Cameroon International himself who called the Italian paper’s editorial staff yesterday night revealing his truth. After Joëlle Sandrine Mbumi and female volleyball national selection, Cameroon has just called three other athletes, Dieudonné Seyi Wilfried, Simplice Fotsala and Julius Maartens, for the upcoming Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brasil.

The 60 000 capacity stadium in Yaounde will soon be realised

The construction of a new Football Stadium in the Olembe neighbourhood in Yaounde will begin few weeks from now. The Italian Ambassador to Cameroon Samuela Isopi was the bearer of the good news revealed in an audience granted by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Bidoung Mkpatt on 15th March 2016 in Yaounde. According to the Italian Diplomat, the new stadium which has the capacity of 60,000 persons will be built in 30 Months.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos against called up Schalke defender Joel Matip

Broos, who took over Cameroon earlier this year, phoned Matip, but was not impressed with the conversation he had with the Liverpool bound defender and feels it is better he stays at home. As a result, Matip has not been called up for Cameroon's two African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa at the end of this month. "I talked to Joel, but I had the feeling that he was not motivated and did not want to come" , Broos was quoted as saying by German daily   WAZ . "I want the players to be motivated and have a great desire to be part of the Indomitable Lions. If this is not the case, they are better off staying at home" , the Belgian tactician added. Cameroon will now make do without Matip, who has won 27 caps for the African country since making his senior bow in 2010, when they battle South Africa. Yesterday March 14, Clovis Kamzong Abessolo of the SNH velo made the difference overpowering the Moroccans who have been the favourites since the beginning of the race wining the yellow jersey so far and wining the first two laps.
