Friday, February fourteenth, the UN says at least 22 people have been killed in a village in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Over half of those killed were children. No one has claimed responsibility for Friday’s incident but the opposition parties blame the killing on the government.

Fooled by witchdoctors and soothsayers that the easiest way to attain wealth is through incest and defilement, some men in Malawi are learning their lessons the hard way. A 36-year-old man from Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, is one of the men who is now in custody on incest charges, said Lilongwe police. Police spokesperson said the superstitious man had been netted for allegedly having sex with his 17-year-old daughter.

Nigerian authorities have decided to send a delegation to Cameroon following the arrest on Friday of a suicide bomber said to be one of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok, Nigeria. The delegation will include amongst others some of the parents of the abducted girls. The Nigerian delegation while in Cameroon would verify the identity of the girl aged fifteen years.

Authorities in Cameroon and Nigeria are investigating a claim from a would-be suicide bomber that she was one of a group of schoolgirls abducted in 2014. The Nigerian government is sending parents to Cameroon to attempt to identify the girl. She told investigators in Cameroon she was one of 270 kidnapped in Chibok by jihadist group Boko Haram. The abductions sparked international outrage and the #bringbackourgirls social media campaign.

Belgian police briefly used water cannon to control several hundred rowdy protesters in central Brussels on Sunday after they ignored an official call for marches to be postponed following Tuesday's bombings. Amid fears of further attacks, officials wanted to give police the scope to focus on investigations which have widened to other countries, leading to the arrest of an Algerian in Italy and intelligence cooperation with Germany. Police carried out 13 new raids in Belgium itself.
