According to the Cameroonian
Ministry of External Relations, the contributions received from the Cameroonian
diaspora, as war effort in the fight against Boko Haram, reached FCfa 79
million as at 29 April 2016. The largest contribution came from Cameroonians
living in Switzerland, who donated FCfa 37 million.
Since 2015, the counter from the
Cameroonian army to the crimes committed by the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko
Haram in Cameroon's Extreme-North prompted a national solidarity chain. This
took the form of fundraising and donations of foodstuffs to support soldiers on
the front.
These resources coming from all
corners of the world have led the Head of State to create an interministerial
committee in charge of managing them. According to the latest figures from this
committee, close to FCfa 2.5 billion have already been collected as part of
this solidarity chain to support the Cameroonian army.

Cameroonian scammer arrested in Montreal (canada
The Sûreté du Québec announced Wednesday the arrest of an alleged fraudster specialist of a scenario called "Black money scam", in which victims are invited to participate in the cleaning of soiled banknotes, then are robbed during the operation. Cyrille Ngogang, 49 years old, was caught red-handed in downtown Montreal Tuesday afternoon. He appeared in court this morning to be charged with fraud and breach of commitment. The man is not in his first trouble with the law: he was previously arrested by the SQ on 19 January for charges related to the same scheme, and had been able to resume its freedom under strict conditions pending his trial. There are several variants of the 'Black money' scenario, but all involve a so-called batch of cash that has been stained with a dye or colouring substance. Scammers ask their victim to provide money to clean the hoard.
