Friday, February fourteenth, the UN says at least 22 people have been killed in a village in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Over half of those killed were children. No one has claimed responsibility for Friday’s incident but the opposition parties blame the killing on the government.

Cameroon issues arrest warrants for separatist leaders Soldiers in Bamenda Wanted Escalating Tension ----------------------------- Cameroonian authorities have issued 15 international arrest warrants for leaders of an Anglophone separatist party, the Southern Cameroon National Council. It comes after at least two military police officers were killed at a security checkpoint earlier this week. Dozens were killed last month in a violent crackdown on protests against the mainly French-speaking government. Many English speakers accuse the Francophone majority of discrimination. They say they are often excluded from top civil service jobs, and that the French language and legal system have been imposed on them. The Committee to Protect Journalists will honour journalists from Cameroon, Mexico, Thailand, and Yemen with its 2017 International Press Freedom Awards. The journalists have faced government harassment, death threats, or imprisonment in their pursuit of the truth. DUBAI: A gang of knife-wielding men lured currency exchange dealers into a trap, restrained them and decamped with Dhs3,600,000, the Criminal Court heard on Thursday. An unemployed Cameroonian man, 30, three compatriot visitors, 29, 32, and 38 and two Malian visitors, both 32, with the help of fugitives used knives and cleavers in the 40-minute robbery.
