The pastor in question, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, hosted Republican presidential
candidate Donald Trump during his visit to Detroit earlier this month.
The leader of New Era Detroit, who only goes by the name
Zeek, said that the group's protest was not limited to Jackson.
"The situation is bigger than just Wayne T.
Jackson," Zeek told Fox 2 Detroit. "This is about black
churches and black pastors who live a lavish life on behalf of the people and
they are not giving back to their community," he added.
Zeek voiced out his observations after he attended the
offering on Saturday.
"They started the offering at a thousand
dollars," he said. "And then they said if you don't have $1,000 then
do $300. If you don't have cash, then we got ATM machines," he added.
He pointed out that the pastor owned expensive cars and
houses while the community near the church remained in poverty.
One bishop at the church offered to hear Zeek out and said
that Jackson would be willing to talk to him. Members of the church came to
Jackson's defense and pointed out that he is actually helping people in the
community.
One pastor claimed that the bishop had given away cars
and homes. The claim was supported by another church member.
"He should talk to people that he hired, ex-cons
people that been in prison," said the church member. "He has done so
much for this community. There are homes he has bought and given to
people," the member continued.
Another member named Juanita Kinney said that the pastor
immediately told her to look for an apartment when he found out that she did
not have a place to live. Kinney said she now has her own place because of the
pastor and his wife.

Cameroonian scammer arrested in Montreal (canada
The Sûreté du Québec announced Wednesday the arrest of an alleged fraudster specialist of a scenario called "Black money scam", in which victims are invited to participate in the cleaning of soiled banknotes, then are robbed during the operation. Cyrille Ngogang, 49 years old, was caught red-handed in downtown Montreal Tuesday afternoon. He appeared in court this morning to be charged with fraud and breach of commitment. The man is not in his first trouble with the law: he was previously arrested by the SQ on 19 January for charges related to the same scheme, and had been able to resume its freedom under strict conditions pending his trial. There are several variants of the 'Black money' scenario, but all involve a so-called batch of cash that has been stained with a dye or colouring substance. Scammers ask their victim to provide money to clean the hoard.
