Friday, February fourteenth, the   UN says at least 22 people have been killed in a village in the Northwest region of Cameroon. Over half of those killed were children. No one has claimed responsibility for Friday’s incident but the opposition parties blame the killing on the government.

Cameroonian, lecturer killed by robbers in Gombe state, Nigeria


The Gombe State Police Command on Monday confirmed the killing of a lecturer, Malam Sulaiman Umar and a Cameroonian, Malam Zainab Mahmuda at Kashere junction on the Gombe-Kumo Road in Nigeria.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Ahmed Usman.

Usman said a gang of armed robbery suspects killed the duo on Sunday night at about 11:45p.m adding that the suspected robbers were about eight in number.

“Umar, until his death, was a lecturer in the Department of Arabic Studies, Federal University, Kashere.
“Investigation into the incident has commenced,” the spokesman added.
